Step 1: Visit the Union Madrileña Website
Go to the official Union Madrileña website.
You may notice that although the company name contains the letter “ñ”, the website address uses a standard “n” because internet domain names do not use the Spanish character.
Step 2: Locate the Client Area
On the homepage, you will see a green button labelled “Área Privada”.
This is where existing policyholders can log in to their client area.
After clicking the button, you will be taken to a login page featuring an image of a family. Here you can:
- Change the language to English.
- Enter your username and password.
- Register for online access by selecting Sign Up if you have not already created an account.
However, if your goal is simply to find a doctor, you do not need to register first.
Step 3: Access the Medical Directory
Return to the homepage and select “Cuadro Médico” from the menu at the top of the page.
The website may encourage you to log in, but if you have not registered yet, select:
“No soy asegurado” (I am not insured).
You may then see another prompt encouraging registration. Simply click:
“Pincha aquí si no eres asegurado” (Click here if you are not insured).
This will take you directly to the doctor search page.
Step 4: Search for a Doctor
The search tool allows you to find approved healthcare providers within the Union Madrileña network.
Start by entering:
Province
Select the province where you live or wish to receive treatment.
Town or City
Choose the town nearest to you.
Medical Specialty
Select the specialist you need.
If you are looking for a family doctor or general practitioner, search for:
Medicina General
You can also filter by:
- Postcode
- Doctor name
- Clinic name
However, these fields are usually optional and can be left blank.
Once you have completed the search criteria, click Accept.
Step 5: Review the Results
The directory will display a list of approved:
- Doctors
- Medical centres
- Clinics
- Hospitals
You can scroll through the results and choose the provider that best suits your needs.
The directory also allows you to:
- Print the results
- Download the complete medical directory
Using the Union Madrileña Mobile App
Although the website works perfectly well, many policyholders find the mobile app more convenient.
The app is available in English and provides access to:
